Sorry Moe

As neat an idea as it is to have our new robot overlords assembling themselves and growing smarter at an exponential rate, this isn't the device that's their progenitor.

It's a nice publicity ploy but that is about it. That machine didn't build a single wire that you see in the picture. It didn't build any of the electronics used to control it. It didn't build any of the aluminum rods that compose its structure. It didn't build any of the bands that connect its gears. It didn't build any of the metal fasteners holding it together. It for real certain didn't build the stepper motors that make it go.

Lastly I am pretty damn sure, given the dimensions it couldn't even in principle build the stage it prints things on.

The rise of the Robots will have to wait awhile yet.

Wait... what?

Dr. Who rocks! (even if he's anti-gun)

so does Torchwood!----------------------

I never saw many of the originals, though it is the longest running scifi show in existance (beating out Star Trek TNG)

I do like the new ones, though I did find it interesting that he is horridly anti-gun, thinking less of people who use or have them, yet he turns an atmospheric device into a gun to use on the enemy he was fighting. Heh.

Conservative values shine even through the BBC's writing staff! heh.

I have been wanting something that could do what they claim the RepRap does for so long its not funny.

Every so often someone announces these things, and it turns out to be self constructing only in the most loose terms.

Right now I am just waiting to have the time to make good use of the Craftsman Compucarve computer controlled router. It does your wood detail work for your

Now this as a home tool is impressive.

Well, if it ever happens, it probably will be - but that's not important right now.
