This is just for anyone who ever thought global warming was ever about the climate. There is this article in the lancet (The same medical journal that brought you Iraq War casualties inflated by a factor of 10) stating that obese people contribute to global warming.

Has anyone told Al Gore ?
You'd think he might want to lose a few from his middle.

Compared with the normal weight population, the obese population consumes 18% more food energy. Additionally, more transportation fuel energy will be used to transport the increased mass of the obese population, which will increase even further if, as is likely, the overweight people in response to their increased body mass choose to walk less and drive more.
Urban transport policies that promote walking and cycling would reduce food prices by reducing the global demand for oil, and promotion of a normal distribution of B.M.I. [Body Mass Index] would reduce the global demand for, and thus the price of, food. Decreased car use would reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thus the need for biofuels, and increased physical activity levels, would reduce injury risk and air pollution, improving population health.

Like so many of the warmers arguments this one lacks any kind of rigor and is purely meant to advance their agenda.

First by their own logic fat people are sequestering carbon and their troubles doing so should qualify them for carbon credits. So next time you have that cheeseburger be sure to save the receipt you should be eligible for carbon credits. I don't even want to point out the idiocy that has resulted from trying to use food as transportation fuel already. Just how many miles to the gallon does a middle aged white guy get ? P.S. you really don't want to try and fuel fat white guys on ethanol.

Second having all these fat people exercising would increase their caloric use and their CO2 output. If you want to decrease CO2 in the air, getting people to burn off calories isn’t going to do it. While I don’t consider the CO2 air pollution, do you really want swarms of sweaty fat people running down the streets? This would be a real air pollution problem.

Third promoting walking and cycling isn’t going to reduce demand for food. It’s going to increase it. All it means is people will be burning off the calories before they get converted to fat. If anything they will be hungrier from all the exercise.

What do their ideas promote and accomplish? They give the government one more reason to interfere in your personal life. Now not just your choice of automobile is a matter planetary health so are your girth and your recreation habits. Don’t worry though (I am sure the wealthy and politically connected will be able to obtain lipid offsets)

[Update] Apparently this is part of a Scam movement that already has Agitators Promoters other adherents.
