I've voted in the Pennsylvania Primary

Well, I voted this afternoon, and there were no interesting decisions. My wife and I arrived at our precinct's volunteer fire station, and there was no one there. I expected to see strange kids with Mohawks and Miley Cyrus t-shirts pushing either Barack Obama or Ron Paul, but none were there.

For President, the choices were listed: Ron Paul, John McCain, Mike Huckabee. The wife chose Huckabee, just because she wanted to vote for him at least once. I went with McCain. The other contest were either uncontested or choose a maximum of four to be a delegate. (I'm not one who puts a lot of thought into who I want to go to the RNC, don a silly hat, and blow a horn. Personally, I'd have sooner not sent a Romney supporter, but we were not told who supported what. It'll be over on the first ballot anyway, so they're committed.

After we voted, which involves moving a highlighter around a screen with a lever, we bought two dumplings from the Polling Place Ladies. I dig those gals.

I don't have a rooster in the Dem fight, so it doesn't really matter to me who wins. Barry will be the nominee regardless, but I'd like to see Hillary win big so she has a better chance of convincing the media that she can keep this going through Denver. I have to assume that Hillary will win by no more than 5%. Obama can pull this out if there is an ultra-heavy turnout in and around Philadelphia, but a figure I heard earlier was 50%. While that's a fantastic turnout for a primary election, it's probably not enough to carry the day for Barry.

We vote next in November, and I hope it is this warm.

“.....women and minorities hardest hit”

before work. There were 5-6 people, couple ahead of me and a few behind. Noticed at least 2 Hilary bumper stickers in the parking lot.

...who goes to the RNC (there's a lot more to the convention than just picking a presidential candidate...), and perhaps more importantly, who gets into the state committee, which hasn't made the best decisions in recent years. Unfortunately, the state committee selection didn't offer many choices - 11 men, 12 women on my ballot, and you were to choose 11 men and 11 women. The only thing you had to go by was their town of residence.

I got a grand total of 1 automated call supporting one of the RNC delegates (no reasons given, just one of our county commissioners asking us to suppport her), and NO information on any of the others. (Nor was I able to find any other information online...)

I'd very much like to see more openness and information on who these people are and what they stand for in the future. Long term, these are the ones who are going to push the party in a particular direction, and it's a shame we don't have more actual knowledge about who we're putting in that position.
