Hillary aide Blumenthal drives drunk, avoids jail time

Hillary henchman Sidney Blumenthal has pleaded guilty to driving while liquored up – January in New Hampshire – and he'll lose his license for sixteen months. He avoided trial and greater punishment only because his arresting officer was ordered to Iraq.

Now an unpaid adviser to Hillary Clinton's campaign, Blumenthal, 59, was arrested Jan. 7, the day before the New Hampshire primary, and charged with aggravated drunken driving. Police said Blumenthal was traveling 70 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The case had been set for trial last week, but Blumenthal has agreed to plead guilty to a reduced charge of driving while intoxicated with enhanced penalties, Nashua police Capt. Peter Segal said.

In addition to the suspended license, he will pay a $750 fine plus a 20 percent penalty fee assessed by the court when he is sentenced April 18 in Nashua District Court, Segal said.

Blumenthal also will be required to undergo an alcohol intervention program, which he can do in Washington.

Perhaps the program will help Blumenthal to get over his addiction before he hurts someone or, God forbids, kills.

Here's a bit on Blumenthal's January arrest from the Nashua Telegraph:

[Nashua Police Sergeant Mike] Masella said he activated the blue lights on his police cruiser at which point Blumenthal stopped his vehicle [rented Buick] at the entrance to the Henri Burque Highway.

Although he was driving the opposite direction, Blumenthal, 59, told Masella he had just left Manchester and was trying to get to his hotel.

"I said 'You're coming from a different area,' and he admitted he was lost," Masella said.

Several factors, such as the smell of alcohol led him to suspect Blumenthal may be intoxicated, Masella said, and he instructed arriving officer Christopher Ditullio to give Blumenthal a field sobriety test.

Blumenthal was arrested after completing the test and taken to the police department where he refused to take a breath test and was booked on a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated, Masella said.

The charge is aggravated due to the speed Blumenthal's vehicle was traveling before it was stopped, he said.

Blumenthal was jailed at the department for about four hours before he was bailed later that morning, Masella said.

Because he refused the breath test, Blumenthal, who carries a Washington, D.C., driver's license, may not drive a vehicle in New Hampshire pending the outcome of his court case, Masella said.

I assume that Sgt. Masella was the Nashua policeman deployed to Iraq. Thank you for your service, Sgt. Masella. I don't know if it would be any consolation, but we'll do our best to see that the drunk never again sees the inside of the White House except as a tourist. (That's almost a foregone conclusion this time, as his current Clinton boss' chances of winning the Dem nomination, let alone the Presidency, are very slim. It would require a lot of Dems who are a lot smarter than Blumenthal to willingly decide to forfeit the election for their party by turning to chaos.)

One of Hillary's hitmen walks because of a war she vows to end no matter what the cost in lives and treasure.

Delaying trial or requesting it in a location where the arresting officer won't be able to reach will get you off for court fees in Florida. (Yes the state still collects, Justice is blind but she knows exactly whats in her wallet) I know of people close to me that have done exactly the same thing and I have had people that were responsible for accidents do it to me.
