Fisking the Obama Rezko Response

I’m saddened by today’s verdict. This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.

I’m saddened by today’s verdict.
Why? As Ace says, a jury of his peers has found him guilty. The Obama should be happy that a criminal is out of Illinois politics.
This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew,
Oh, no? Not the one whose office the Obama would drop by just as -- by sheer coincidence -- Middle Eastern money men would be visiting ol' Tony? The Obama helped Rezko rake in donor cash, for which the Obama's campaign was handsomely rewarded. And that help buying his house -- in the real world, people don't do that without some ulterior motive. This is exactly the same guy the Obama knew. Liar.
but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform.
"Reform" -- I don't think that word means what the Obama thinks it means. This spotlights the need to clean house in Illinois government, starting with the Cook County Board, proceeding through the State Senate and its corrupt President Emil Jones, and on through its U.S. Senators and Governor.
I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.
The first step they could take is to impeach the malfeasant Blagojevich. The second step they could take is to refuse to give Tony Rezko's associates the Electoral College votes from Illinois.
And how about Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fizgerald? Are there any steps he could take "to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future", such as prosecuting those who benefited from Rezko's crimes?
But then, convicting more criminals would make the Obama sad. Especially if it were the Obama himself frog-marching off to Joliet.
Correct me, please, but wasn't this the same line, verbatim, about Wright and Pfleger? Does Obama know anyone around him? Maybe someone should ask him what is Michelle's last name before the reputed tape surfaces so he can't deny he knew her, too.
As an aside, how long will it take the KosKids to transform Patrick Fitzgerald from the Saint of Plamegate to that ol' debbil Lucifer? My guess is the transformation will occur with the next round of indictments of Chicago political figures, whom I suspect also weren't the corrupt SOB's who Obama didn't know while they lavished him with gifts.
that the reason Rove got away is that Fitzgerald is an anti-Choice Papist neocon with stock in Haliburton.

Nah, they're too busy discussing important things like John McCain's teeth. Go check. They can't beleive he hasn't whitened his teeth.
This is the same bunch who thought Bush wore a radio transmitter as he turned in a godawful debate performance against Kerry.
...as I've said many times before, the entire premise of Barack Obama's dream campaign, financed with Hollywood money and built as a Hollywood story, is that his relative anonymity has made him so popular. He's literally the one night stand the American people meet at the bar and go bananas over.
This is the single most important factor that has made the Clintons seethe: their own storyline of "tested and ready on Day One" was precisely the opposite of why Barack was chosen: he was a nobody, but a smart nobody -- a lump of clay who could be made into the President with the right stage-management.

And fortunately there wasn't a wedding band on my finger. I strongly suspect the American people as a whole won't opt for marriage once the sun comes up, either.

The Obama-Rezko Connection and the Opportunities Before Reporters
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 5:24 PM
Detailed here by the Chicago Tribune.
Keep up on all the latest about Tony and Barack via Rezkorama.com.
Speaking of the Chicago Tribune, its parent company --and the parent of the Los Angeles Times and many other papers-- held a conference call today. Some key excerpts:
Tribune Co. officials think the media concern "could take about 500 pages out of our newspapers every week," company-wide, by reducing the proportion of editorial content to advertising to a 50-50 level, Chief Operating Officer Randy Michaels told the Chicago company's creditors Thursday....
The recently installed COO also disclosed that Tribune officials have been examining the productivity of individual reporters at the company's newspapers, and have observed a significant discrepancy between the output of individual reporters.
In addition, he said, the productivity of the reporting staffs at Tribune's smaller dailies is much higher -- in terms of sheer output -- than at larger papers such as the company's big Los Angeles Times paper.
The implication of that difference in output, as measured by story production is that "We can eliminate a fair amount of people, while eliminating not much copy," he observed. Michaels didn't offer any details.
If I were a reporter at the Chicago Tribune, I'd be digging, digging, digging into Tony-Barack and the ties that bind Ayers, Dohrn, Phleger, Rezko and Wright, making myself a fountain of stories and thus making myself less likely to feel the ax when it falls.
Suggestion: Note how we are posting the letters of Jeremiah Wright published in the Trinity Church bulletin? We aren't cherry-picking, just putting up all of them we can find in the order they appeared to give readers a sense of what was going on inside of trinity. A reporter might usefully inquire when exactly Senator Obama crossed the church's threshold and held that week's bulletin. They might also wonder if these letters throw light on Obama's argument that the Jeremiah Wright of the National Press Club was a Jeremiah Wright he didn't know.
But if such reporters existed, I suppose, the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times wouldn't be in such desperate straights to begin with.
