Do We Have A Zipper Problem?

From conversations with people who have worked around him, Tommy Thompson has a roving eye and for a rather ungainly, homely fellow he has quite a string of successes in that arena.

While he learned the hardway that dealing in Washington as a cabinet secretary was different than dealing in Madison as a governor, he's about to learn that activities that went unremarked as a governor, or cabinet secretary, will gain notice when you are allegedly running for the White House.

Wisconsin blogs are running with a story that has been perking for a decade.

Tommy Thompson is a vanity candidate in this race and has no visible constituency. Why he would want the spotlight drawn to his extracurricular activities in a quixotic run at the White House is a mystery.

but on the civilian side of government, it is amazing how attractive a "rather ungainly, homely fellow" can be if he has an elected or appointed title. There are lots of women in and around government who have the "horizontal career move" down.

At least that is the opinion of Ed Morrissey and Michael Stickings. In fact his problem is that he is too dull, and the GOP only elects candidates for POTUS that are celebrities. Here is Stickings' link if you are interested.

Since when was Rudy a "family values" candidate?

that anything can be revealed about Rudy's personal life, given what we already know, that is going to make his supporters say "wow, I just can't vote for this guy."
